Hello Divas! This week’s edition of Tasty Tuesday features china from the White House. The White House China service refers to the various patterns of china used for serving and eating food in the White House. Not every administration created its own service, but portions of all china services created for the White House are now in the China Room collection.
Yesterday, the White House unveiled the official state china service of the Obama administration. The set includes an 11 piece spread trimmed in Kailua Blue, showing homage to President Obama’s native state. First Lady Michelle Obama first started designing the set in 2011, according to The Huffington Post, she worked with Michael Smith and consulted with the White House staff to the determine what was needed for this new set.
The Obama State China service is white china accented with bands of white-on-white relief pattern, matte gold and a fresh, beautiful, bright color which has been names Kailua Blue. Each place setting consists of eleven pieces. The service for 320 was donated by the White House Historical Association and will be used for the first time tonight at for the Japan State Dinner.

What do you all think? I think the Obama’s nailed this design, not only is it elegant and fresh, but it also leaves a cherishing representation of our President. Tweet us your thoughts on the new China Service @glamstyledivas and also, don’t forget about June 20th!
