Tips for Long-Lasting Weight Loss

Hey Divas! Happy day before Friday lol! It’s Transform Thursday so today I want to give tips to transform your body and keep it that way. Some people do quick fix weight loss tricks to try to get ready for a special occasion but once it’s over what’s next? The ultimate goal should be to get healthy and fit and stay that way. Below are 5 tips to maintain that in the long term.

1. SET GOALS

~Start with one big goal and then set several small goals that will ultimately lead to your final goal. This way your big goal is not as overwhelming.

2. GET INTO A ROUTINE

~Once you make a routine out of eating right and exercise it’s hard to break. It just becomes part of your day to day activities. If anything causes you to miss a scheduled workout you will definitely try to make it up because it won’t feel right. Consistency is key for the long term.

3. MIX CARDIO & STRENGTH TRAINING

~Cardio and strength training together will give you the best results. Cardio helps with fat and calorie burn, while strength training builds and shapes lean muscles.

4. SWITCH IT UP

~If you are working towards long term goals, at some point you may hit a plateau. If this happens, try switching up your regular workout routine by adding new exercises/workouts and try adding some different foods to your meal plan.

5. TRACK YOUR MEASUREMENTS

~Now you may not hit a plateau at all and it just looks like nothing is happening because the scale isn’t moving. Well make sure you are also tracking your measurements because sometimes you lose inches and the scale will not show that.
